For a number of years Skive Municipality has taken many energy- and CO2-saving initiatives in cooperation with enterprises and citizens. The incentive to make a special effort for the climate is based on financial reasons, because it pays to be environmentally conscious.

So far, the municipality has invested 38 million DDK in energy-saving measures, and 54 million DDK have come back into the municipal coffers. The profits are created simply by a reduction in the operating costs, as the costs for installation of solar heating are lower than the initial costs for heating.
